Claire Verschraegen, MD, MS
Dr. Verschraegen is a Professor of Hematology and Oncology at the University of New Mexico Cancer Center. A mesothelioma specialist, her research focuses on malignant peritoneal mesothelioma, as well as appendiceal and gynecological cancers.
Dr. Verschraegen received her master’s and medical degrees from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Verschraegen is a member of professional organizations such as the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the International Society for Gynecologic Oncology, and has authored or co-authored many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters about the treatment of mesothelioma and other cancers.
