Dr. Rice is a Professor of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He specializes in mesothelioma treatment, as well as minimally invasive surgery for other thoracic malignancies.
Dr. Rice received his medical degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He completed a residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He also completed fellowships in thoracic surgery and colon/rectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Rice has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Medical Association, the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Surgeons, and the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
