A specialist in the treatment of mesothelioma, Dr. Schiller is Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center, as well as Deputy Director of the Simmons Cancer Center. She is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Dr. Schiller has done extensive research investigating drug development and experimental therapeutics for lung cancer. She has been involved in clinical trials that used radiation therapy to treat lung cancer patients, a treatment that can also be used for patients with mesothelioma.
Dr. Schiller received her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She then completed a residency in internal medicine from Northwestern Hospital, as well as a fellowship in oncology from the University of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center.
Dr. Schiller has authored or co-authored numerous articles related to the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, and is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She was named one of the Best Doctors in America in 2012, and one of America’s Top Doctors for Cancer in 2013.
