Dr. Cameron is considered one of the leading experts in mesothelioma treatment in the nation. He serves as director of the mesothelioma program at the University of California, Los Angeles’ David Geffen School of Medicine, chief of thoracic surgery at the West Los Angeles Veterans’ Administration Medical Center. He is also the scientific advisor for the Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute and the Pacific Meso Center.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Cameron specializes in the treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma and other cancers using minimally-invasive and robotic thoracic surgery techniques. He also co-founded the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, which sponsors research into the diagnosis and treatment of mesothelioma.

Dr. Cameron received his medical degree from UCLA, and completed residencies at Cornell University Medical Center as well as the National Cancer Institute. He also completed a fellowship at the UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Cameron has been recognized by Castle Connolly as one of America’s Top Doctors since 2007, and has authored or co-authored more than 35 journal articles concerning oncology and thoracic surgery.
