Thomas James Lynch, MD
Dr. Lynch has been appointed CEO and chairman of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, effective Sept. 1. He served as the Director of the Yale University Cancer Center, as well as Chief Physician at Yale’s Smilow Cancer Hospital.
The research into personalized medicine performed by Dr. Lynch and his team has included developing molecular profiles of lung tumors, allowing researchers to predict a tumor’s response to targeted anti-cancer drugs. Before his tenure at Yale, Dr. Lynch served as a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
Dr. Lynch is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. He is a specialist in the treatment of mesothelioma. He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. He has authored or co-authored nearly 200 scientific journal articles, review articles and book chapters.
