A specialist in the treatment of mesothelioma, Dr. Lambright is an Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, as well as Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Lambright is also the Surgical Director of Vanderbilt University’s Lung Transplant Program.  He specializes in pulmonary malignancies, lung transplantation, lung failure surgery, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.  A major part of his research includes investigating new therapies for chest malignancies such as pleural mesothelioma.  He has actively researched methods that use chemotherapy and immunotherapy to treat mesothelioma.

Dr. Lambright received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete residencies in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a fellowship in thoracic oncology at the same university.

Dr. Lambright is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He has been named one of Castle Connolly’s Best Doctors in America from 2009-2013, as well as one of America’s Top Surgeons in 2010. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
