A specialist in the treatment of mesothelioma, Dr. Kindler is Director of the Mesothelioma Program at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, as well as Medical Director of the school’s Gastrointestinal Oncology Program. Her research focuses on gastrointestinal tumors, mesothelioma and pancreatic cancer, and involves ongoing clinical studies to develop new treatments of these diseases.

Dr. Kindler received her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and completed her residency at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Kindler has published numerous journal articles and book chapters, and is even an associate editor of the journal Lung Cancer. She has been listed in Best Doctors in America and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer, and was awarded the Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award by the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization.

Dr. Kindler is a member of professional groups such as the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the Mesothelioma Foundation.
