Michael R. Harbut, MD
Dr. Harbut is Chief of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine section at St. John Providence Hospital. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asbestos-related and workplace diseases, including mesothelioma, as well as other environmental illnesses.
Dr. Harbut received his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean, and completed his residency at the University of Michigan. During his research, he co-authored the world’s largest study of respiratory health in ironworkers who were exposed to asbestos, which causes mesothelioma.
Dr. Harbut is board certified in occupational medicine, and is a member of professional societies such as the American College of Chest Physicians and the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
