Background
Osceola Cancer Center was established in 1983 in Kissimmee, Florida to provide convenient, comfortable, and local care in affiliation with Florida’s only Comprehensive Cancer Center, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. Cancer therapies are administered by nationally certified medical and radiation oncologists with years of expertise in cancer care. They are supported by a wonderful staff of therapists, nurses, and administrative assistants.
Cancer Treatments
Therapies are designed to be as comfortable and effective as possible. Radiation therapy, medical oncology and chemotherapy, diagnostic and laboratory services, and clinical trials are offered at the Osceola Cancer Center. Advanced radiation techniques are employed: Varian linear accelerator, multi-leaf collimation, 2-D, 3-D IMRT, and a wide bore light speed CT simulator (for diagnostic purposes). Enrollment in clinical trials is encouraged based on a patient’s treatment protocol. Holistic and compassionate therapy is a cornerstone of cancer treatment. Medical family therapy and the emotional, spiritual, and relational effects of cancer are addressed through on-site sessions with Judy Shell, RN, PhD.
